Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Conducting Assessments: Evaluate clients to provide tailored treatment plans that promote recovery and improve quality of life.
  • Evidence-Based Therapy: Deliver therapy services grounded in the latest research and best practices.
  • Supervising Staff: Oversee junior staff members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Collaborating on Programs: Work closely with the OT Lead to develop and implement effective therapeutic programs.
  • Maintaining Records: Keep accurate treatment records to ensure compliance with legal and quality standards.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in team meetings and liaise with external agencies for collaborative care.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly with clients and team members to foster a supportive environment.
  • Risk Management: Implement strategies to manage risks associated with client care.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure adherence to the legal requirements of the Mental Health Act and maintain data quality.

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist or in a similar role within a mental health setting.
  • A degree in Occupational Therapy (DipCOT or equivalent) and active registration with the Health & Care Professions Council.
  • A solid understanding of the unique benefits of occupational therapy for clients and families in a mental health context.
  • Familiarity with current local and national mental health policies and the 'recovery' approach in care.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A food hygiene certificate would be beneficial, and a background in vocational rehabilitation is preferred.
